Partner short name: CI TASK
CI TASK is an inter-university unit that manages one of the biggest and most modern metropolitan area networks (MAN) in Poland. It covers over one hundred academic institutions in the whole of the Tri-City as well as additional networks in Koszalin and Olsztyn. It is the network's operator and the administrator of High Calculation Power Computers, designed to provide advanced telecommunications and Internet services for academic circles and providing high- power computers and science-research software. CI TASK is one of five Polish Centres of High-Power Computers and a member of the national academic network PIONIER.
CI TASK enables remote access to the Centre resources, the usage of all networks services, multimedia transmissions, interactive work, teaching and learning via the network.
Key Facilities and Infrastructure
The Supercomputers Group maintains and manages all the modern computers (IBM, SGI, SUN, clusters) installed in CI TASK equipped with a high-capacity archivisation system (ATL, HP, and EXABYTE). The supercomputer, which stands in CI TASK is able to process 50 billion operations per second; it consists of 1,400 Intel Xeon Quad-Core processors, which means 5,600 cores and a maximum calculating power of 50 TFLOPS. This is the biggest supercomputer in Poland.
